Fisker Automotive, the world’s leading manufacturer of luxury Electric Vehicles with extended range, today announced plans to establish a new Technical Center in the Midwest, with South Eastern Michigan as one of the potential locations – paving the way for ongoing development of its second model line, the Fisker Atlantic. The new facility, currently planned to open in Spring 2013, will bring Fisker closer to key component suppliers and low-emission technical expertise at the heart of the American automotive industry. It will also be closer to Fisker’s intended production facility for the Atlantic in Delaware.
“This important step signals our commitment to bringing the Fisker Atlantic to market as soon as we can,” said Fisker Automotive, President and CEO, Tony Posawatz. “We will be bringing our own engineering footprint closer to our supplier base and the expertise and professional workforce that have driven the American automotive industry for more than a century.”
The company previously had a technical center in Pontiac, Michigan, from Fall 2008 through Spring 2010 as final development and engineering was completed on the company’s award-winning first car, the Fisker Karma sedan.

The nationally-recognized motoring event features 40 teams who will begin driving from Independence on Friday, September 21. The event ends in Bangor, Maine on Saturday, September 29.
It’s not exactly a race or rally but more like an interactive game. Teams will be driving a wide range of exotic vehicles. They will navigate a route by solving clues and accomplishing missions and tasks based on history, geography and pop culture. Each stop holds the key to another clue about where to go next in this life-sized game of Trivial Pursuit.
“Our team will be driving the 2012 Fisker Karma, the world’s first true electric vehicle with an extended range. The Fisker Karma’s unrivaled luxury, style and performance, combined with industry-leading fuel efficiency, makes it the perfect choice for our on-road adventure,” said Bernie Moreno, president and chief executive officer of the Collection Auto Group.

American luxury plug-in hybrid from Fisker Automotive continues to collect accoladesAnaheim, California USA – May 1, 2012: The Fisker Karma luxury plug-in hybrid has received two more awards recognizing its leading-edge design, advanced technology, and environmental credentials.
Last week, the Karma received a First Prize in the International Design Awards (IDA) competition and a silver trophy for innovation at the Edison Awards. These latest accolades add to the growing number of awards that Fisker Automotive (www.fiskerautomotive.com) is proud to have won during the Karma’s debut year.
International Design Awards
The International Design Awards (IDA) exist to celebrate the world's most visionary design, discover new and emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of design worldwide. This year the judging panel of international experts awarded First Prize in the Transportation Competition to the Fisker Karma.
Quality and customer satisfaction are the top priority for Fisker Automotive.
With any new technology there will be a need for initial updates and refinements and we have demonstrated the ability to quickly resolve them on a case-by-case basis. In addition, Fisker’s 24 hour VIP contact centers, retail network with a proven customer service track record and our comprehensive vehicle warranty are all designed to give you, our customers, complete peace of mind.
It is important to understand that despite widespread publicity of a service issue with a car belonging to Consumer Reports last week, Karma performed exactly as it was designed to. The on-board diagnostics detected a fault and entered a protection mode that shut the car down to protect other components. We are sorry for the inconvenience this caused the customer, but we focused on getting the car back to them as swiftly as possible.
All identified parts have been returned to Fisker for a full engineering analysis.
I have put in place a “SWAT Team” with over 50 dedicated engineers and other consulting professionals to help identify this and other unique customer issues with the Karma. New software has been developed and installed in a large fleet of vehicles and they are being driven round the clock for testing and validation. As soon as this procedure is complete we will send updated software out.
I am personally involved in all these initiatives and am committed to delivering complete customer satisfaction and peace of mind.
Sincerely,
Tom LaSorda, CEO
